Crusader Kings 2 owners who pre-order Europa Universalis 4 will be able to transfer their save progress over to the latter game upon its release on August 13 for PC, Mac and Linux, Paradox Interactive has announced.

The Europa Universalis IV Converter is a DLC for Crusader Kings II. It turns a saved game of CK2 into a mod for Europa Universalis IV. The DLC was originally available as a pre-order bonus for EU4; shortly after that game's launch it was made available separately as DLC, priced at €/$9.99. The empire building game Europa Universalis IV gives you control of a nation to guide through the years in order to create a dominant global empire. Paradox Development Studio is back with the fourth installment of the award-winning Europa Universalis series.

If you pre-order Europa Universalis 4 from August 1st you'll also get a copy of Crusader Kings 2 for free which you can use yourself or gift to someone else in addition to the save-transfer utility.

The save-transfer ability will allow players to guide their Crusader Kings 2 empires through the Age of Exploration in an 'all new strategic experience, continuing their personal stories of expansion and conquest.'
